Offences hurt the most when the cause is somebody close to you. Unfortunately, it is those close to you who are often in the position to offend you. Because of their closeness, they know the negative buttons to press to get you fired up. Because they are close their offences are more poignant and pervasive.
No human being is an island so that you can live alone without other people. By all means you have to interact with others. We have family, friends and other associations. As long as human beings surround us, we are prone to get offended by them.

Some may offend you through a mistake whilst others will hurt you deliberately. In both instances the value is the same : an offence is an offence.
If we don't deal with offences decisively and on time it degenerates into deeper problems. Most broken friendships, marriages, families, partnerships, churches and other useful associations is
because either offences were not handled at all or were not handled on time.
In the next part of this series, we will look at how to handle offences.
